Dental Acupuncture
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a medical treatment developed in China thousands of years ago and may be used to treat a wide range of medical conditions. Amongst these are a number of problems that may be treated by your dentist.
What happens during treatment?
Fine needles are inserted through the skin and gently stimulated by hand. They are left in place for about 15 minutes. The needles modify the pain pathways and stimulate the nervous system to release endorphins, the body’s natural pain killer.
Will it work for me?
People respond to acupuncture in different ways. Some find immediate improvement, others find that they need several treatment sessions. 70% of patients treated benefit from acupuncture.
