Composite bonding is a treatment which is becoming increasingly popular at our practice due to its fantastic results and its relatively conservative approach to the teeth compared to veneers or crowns.
When patients research where to go for this sort of treatment they usually look at the dentist credentials and experience in this area. Here at Diana Dental we also encourage patients to look at the materials which the dentists use for this cosmetic treatment as these have a massive impact into the end result and overall look of the finished treatment.
Composite fillings are not all equal! A poor quality composite filling will usually look great when first placed and polished, but over a short space of time they might become dull so that they stand out against the natural tooth and look obvious. They might also wear quickly and not last as long as they should.
Here at Diana Dental we use composite filling material made by 3M. There composites are unique in that they use Nanofill technology- in a nutshell this means that the particles that make up their composite are a lot smaller that competitor composites. This means the composite polishes fantastically initially but keeps this polish for a lot longer (so it doesn’t look dull next to the natural tooth), it is stronger and wears a lot slower than other composites and the shade matches are excellent.
Our patients report that the fillings they have received here using this composite have definitely kept their polish for longer and therefore kept a much more aesthetically pleasing result –which if you are opting for a cosmetic filling gives you a cost effective and pleasing option.
