We thought we would give you an update on how we are keeping our patients and team safe during lockdown number 3! We want our patients to feel safe and reassured when they come to see us and we are taking all the steps recommended to us and a few others too!
Prior to your appointment all forms required will be emailed to you to complete so you are not having to do this when you attend for your appointment, this will include a Covid 19 consent form. We are still unable to allow patients to wait in the waiting room for their appointments so as per our recent Facebook post please call us when you arrive for your appointment and wait in your car until we call you in. If you have come to your appointment on foot or via public transport please wrap up warm as there may be a wait to see the team and you will still be unable to wait inside.
Please do not come to the practice unless you have an appointment. If you wish to book or cancel an appointment or have a query please telephone or email the practice.
On entry to the practice we will provide some hand sanitiser and ask that you out all belongings into one of our plastic containers so there is no unnecessary items in surgery. We ask you to wear a face covering unless you are medically exempt, this will obviously be removed right before we are ready to look at your teeth but should not be removed until then. On entry to the surgery we will ask you to wash your hands and use some antibacterial mouthwash before your treatment is started.
Our staff will look a bit different especially if you are having treatment which requires use of our water equipment, they will be wearing the special FP masks, hair coverings and gowns which are changed after each patient. We are now wearing scrubs which we are able to wash at a higher temperature than our previous uniforms. Once you have finished treatment we will take you to reception where we can arrange next visits and payments if required- this will all be done in a socially distanced manner.
After you have left, the surgery is deep cleaned by our team and not used again for another 45 minutes- which is why you might of seen the team swapping and changing rooms. The rooms are all ventilated with fresh air through the window but also as an extra measure we have purchased Dentair air purifier machines which clean the air effectively too.
Our team are now able to self test for Covid 19 with lateral flow tests. They do this twice a week so you can be assured further that you are safe to attend your appointment. We are also high on the list for the Covid 19 vaccinations due to providing essential healthcare.
We want you to feel safe coming to see us and we hope this has shown you how committed we are and how seriously we take both your safety and the safety of our amazing team who have really worked like troopers throughout this pandemic.
