Have you ever felt that your dentist was talking in ‘dental language’ and frankly baffling rather than explaining your options to you?
Did the cost of your treatment ever make you wonder ‘What exactly am I getting for my money?’
There has been a lot of interest in dentistry in the media this week focusing on patients who feel that their treatment and the cost of it was not explained clearly to them during their visit. It has obviously made us at the practice look at our own procedures for making sure our patients are fully-informed and aware of the treatment and costs recommended to them, so we thought we would address this issue in our blog this week.
When you visit us, prior to your appointment you’ll receive an itemised treatment plan which will detail the treatment recommendations for you together with their associated costs. We’ll go through this with you at reception and then you’ll be asked to sign off on that to confirm that you understand everything and are clear about what we’ve discussed, and that you’re happy to go ahead with the treatment.
Our treatment coordinator, Rachel, is on hand to discuss anything you’re unclear about in simple, non-dental language (no jargon!) away from reception in a completely confidential environment. If you have any other queries after this you can always speak directly to your dentist, too, if you so wish.
At Diana Dental, we’re always focused on making sure that you and our other patients are fully-informed, happy and aware of what costs and treatment they will be receiving. We want our patients to be 100% confident in the care that they are receiving.
You can also find a list of treatments and prices here.
