A little while ago we became one of only a handful of practices in the area to have an iTero scanner, this has allowed us to almost eradicate impressions from our practice. The scan itself is a series of pictures taken inside your mouth and gives a much more accurate recording of your teeth and their relationship to each other. It also cuts the time taken for delivery of this information to the laboratory as we don’t have to rely on couriers or delivery services to do this, it takes as little as 15 minutes for the lab to receive your scans and start working on them.
For patients interested in Invisalign it also allows us to show you a treatment simulation which gives you a picture of what your teeth might look like after your treatment- this can really help you during your decision making process.
It really is a great piece of equipment to use and we are really enjoying enhancing our patients experience by using it.
