We love providing Invisalign treatment to people-the results are so fantastic and we love seeing our patients leave with a new found confident that a new smile will bring! In this blog we thought we would give you a run down of what your treatment might involve so that you know a little bit more to help you make a decision on treatment…
Firstly, we will make you an appointment to see Cindy our lovely Treatment Coordinator, she will listen to your issues and concerns with your teeth, discuss your dental history (don’t’ worry if you haven’t seen a dentist for a while but we will need you to be dentally fit before we start treatment) and show you what aligners look like. She will also be able to take some photos of your teeth and do a scan to show you how your finished smile may look!
Next step will be an appointment with either Zoe or Andy, they will look at your teeth and assess your suitability for treatment. They can also discuss with you any limitations that you might have to consider and ensure you are dentally fit before treatment.
If you are happy to proceed we will provide you with a treatment plan with all of the treatment and costs explained- we can organise finance at this point too if you need it or let you know when payments are due and how much.
Next, we will send your scan and photos to Invisalign (all electronically so the process is pretty quick) and wait for your Clincheck to be sent back- this will confirm how many aligners you need and show you your final results before your aligners are ordered, once you are happy we approve this plan and your aligners get made (eek)
At your first aligner fit appointment you only usually need about 15 minutes to get your aligner fitted and go through instructions with you. 1-2 weeks later you return for your next few sets and any adjustments we need to make to your teeth are done- these vary patient to patient but at your clin check appointment you will know exactly what is being done- don’t worry no adjustments we make are detrimental to your teeth- they just help to move them into their new position!
We then see you every 8-12 weeks, you change your aligners yourself every 2 weeks to progress your treatment, obviously we are available for you if you need us.
Once your treatment is finished and you are happy we provide you with your retainers- to hold your teeth into their new position and protect your investment and hard work- and your tooth whitening (if required).
You must see a dentist and hygienist throughout your treatment, please keep up your regular appointments!
And that’s it! Interested? We thought so…….
