Diana Dental offers a range of treatments to our Stoke on Trent patients that go beyond general dentistry. Along with cosmetic treatments such as dental implants and teeth whitening, we also offer facial aesthetic treatments.
One of our most popular facial aesthetic treatments is the Neostrata ProSystem face peel. This treatment gives you brighter, younger-looking skin and helps minimise the appearance of wrinkles.
What is it?
The Neostrata face peel uses glycolic acid, which is a natural acid found in sugar cane. It also includes three other active ingredients, namely citric acid, found in citrus fruits, and mandelic acid, which is a natural component of almonds.
This peel gently removes the uppermost, superficial layer of the skin, revealing the newer, healthier skin underneath.
A Brighter, More Even Complexion
Neostrata gives you a brighter, more even complexion. This is because it helps shed the uppermost layer of the skin, which is usually also the most damaged layer. Sun exposure, acne and harsh cosmetics can significantly dry out and damage the skin, making it look dull, patchy or flaky.
Minimise Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation is also a common issue that a facial peel addresses. Hyperpigmentation, usually a harmless condition, is when some parts of the skin appear darker than the rest. The darkening is caused by an excess of melanin in the affected areas. Melanin is the brown pigment found in the skin.
Hyperpigmentation is more common in individuals with darker complexions than those with lighter ones. Sun exposure and inflammation, such as from acne, can leave a spot looking darker than the rest.
A facial peel can help remove some of this pigmentation, as the pigment tends to be concentrated in the uppermost layer of the skin. By peeling it away, your skin is left looking brighter and even.
Softened Appearance
A glycolic peel is also a great way to soften the appearance of scarring, especially from acne. Uneven bumps caused by inflammation can be softened and smoothed out by this treatment. The effect is even more pronounced after multiple peels.
Minimised Pores
A Neostrata treatment can greatly minimise the appearance of pores and other markings on the skin. Age, excess oil production and dry skin may enlarge the appearance of the pores. Though the use of moisturisers can help shrink the pores, inflammation may leave the skin permanently dilated.
A peel can help remove some of this damaged skin and help shrink the pores.
Diminished Wrinkles
When the skin dries and ages, it can look sallow and wrinkled. A peel can help rejuvenate the skin and aid in recovery. This gives you a fresher, younger appearance, as it can even out the look of smaller wrinkles.
Clarifies Complexion
Damaged skin is often quite oily as it is a self-regulating organ. This may lead to an excess production of oil, as the skin attempts to heal the damage. A Neostrata peel can help clarify your complexion and improve your levels of oil production.
Diana Dental has an in-depth knowledge of chemical peels backed with years of experience. We are currently offering a special discount for anyone who will get a Neostrata Facial Peel during their birthday month.
