There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer. By 2030, it will be 4 million people, and Macmillan cancer support want to be there for them all.
One in three of us will get cancer, and it will be one of the toughest things we’ll ever have to face. Their goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone.
They provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. And because cancer affects more than just those facing it, they are there for friends and family too.
We think this is a fantastic cause which is why we are proud to be holding a coffee morning at the practice on Friday 29th September. Pop along that morning and sample some of our delicious cakes and have a brew! You can see if you can guess who has baked theirs and who might have cheated!
The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, they did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £165.5 million for Macmillan and 2 years ago we were proud to contribute!
We hope to see you on the day! Look out for photos on our Facebook and Instagram pages too…..
