Zoe qualified in 1996 from the University of Birmingham with honours and a clinical distinction. Zoe spent time working in the hospital where she gained experience in surgery and also found during this time she developed a great deal of general medical knowledge which has helped her treat and diagnose her patients over the years. Over time Zoe has initiated early diagnosis of patients by recognising their signs and symptoms and referring them to the relevant secondary care, one of these cases was reported on the front page of the local newspaper (The Sentinel) when Zoe referred a patient who had an unusual lesion on the top of his head. Zoe then continued her career in general dental practice, she undertook her dental implant training in 2002 whilst pregnant with her daughter Eloise. In 2004 she gained her MFGDP(UK) this is a membership exam for the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners which is the only professional membership body in the UK specifically for general dental practice. Zoe continued working in general dental practice mainly for the NHS where she developed many skills by undertaking regular continual professional development. Zoe was the postgraduate tutor for Stoke On Trent for 12 years, this involved organising the post graduate lectures for the area, leasing with the University of Birmingham and meeting with other tutors and lecturers.
Zoe bought her first practice in 2006 when her second child Matthew was 5 months old, this was also the beginning of her career in private dentistry. Having trained early on in her career in Oral surgery she decided to concentrate on developing her skills in implant dentistry undertaking many postgraduate courses. Keen to gain other complementary skills Zoe also trained to provide Invisalign and facial aesthetics. She decided to study part time for a Master of Science in Dental Implantology (MSc) which she gained in 2014.
During the last 10 years Zoe has lectured for the West Midlands deanery, at Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) study clubs, at an Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) congress in Glasgow, regular trains dental nurses to assist in dental implantology and is teaching dentist practical Implantology as well as mentoring and examining dentists. She has continued her post graduate training by attending courses in the UK, Europe and the United States. Zoe has also had a couple of case studies published in dental magazines on the advanced techniques that she uses including All On 4 and digital dentistry.
Zoe is keen to invest her time and money in new technology to provide the most up to date and safest patient care. Recent investments have been in the Wand providing comfortable anaesthesia, an iTero intra oral scanner reducing the use of impressions, SMOP digital software used to plan implants increasing accuracy of placement and decreasing surgery time.
